When thinking of two songs to compare, the first thought in my mind was the creative person tom lowly. Ive grown up listening to all of his music because of the love my parents have for him. The two songs that I will be comparing in this paper is the original Free Fallin by Tom Petty and the cover that thaumaturgy Mayer. The reasoning behind this is because both songs were made during different musical periods and John Mayer was able to change the song to make it in to his own, but was also able to keep it so similar that it also compliments Tom Pettys version.First comes first, the introduction to both songs are different in many ways. John Mayer uses an acoustic guitar while finger picking his chords. By doing this, the attendant is able to hear every note that is being played. Tom Petty on the other hand strums his chords, which causes the tempo to seem faster. He plays his version sanely loud giving it the mezzo forte feel while John Mayers is mezzo piano.After the instrum ental at the beginning of both songs, Tom Petty transitions towards the drums while the guitar is still being play...
